Did you know that over 75% of our amazing creatives at The Olive Tree Market are women? We are proud to feature so many talented female artists, designers and gourmet food producers, as the core of our creative community. Supporting women makers and creators has always been a strong part of our ethos and purpose, creating a platform for the sisterhood is inspiring!

Don’t forget that on March 7th we are also holding our Bushfire Relief Fundraiser! If you make a gold coin donation at The Olive Tree Market Site Office- or more if you are feeling generous- not only will you be helping our chosen charities  WIRES NSW RFS and the Salvation Army but you will be entered into the draw to win amazing prizes donated by Olive Tree Stallholders- some of them are listed at the bottom of this post!

To help celebrate International Women’s Day, join us at the upcoming market and discover our fantastic female stallholders. Including:

Henry and Tunks

How great are these new soap holders created by Henry and Tunks Maker Lyndel of changed to soap two years ago in an effort to reduce her plastic consumption, as well as wanting to support local makers- there are always so many fantastic soap makers at Olive Tree, and buying from local producers helps reduce the impact of the product- including reducing the distance travelled, did you know it takes up to fives time the energy to produce liquid soap compared to bar soap. Take home one of these functional-and beautiful- soap dishes on March 7th.

Alana Douvros

We love that you can stack the beautiful rings that Alana Douvros creates! This collection are Alana’s Tanzanite, Peridot, Sapphire and Spinel, 14K Gold Filled rings. Every one is handmade in the makers studio. Choose your own-or create a unique stack- at our upcoming market.

Studio Tinta

We think there is nothing better than going to sleep on beautiful silk pillows! Its even better when they are ethically created with eco plant-dyes. Discover natural textiles for the home & body from maker Katie Wilkins of Studio Tinta next Saturday in Civic Park, Newcastle.

Read and Bell

How gorgeous are the colours and block prints in this beautiful dress by new stallholders Read and Bell? With a focus on handmade, fair trade, and slow fashion, the brand fuses versatile shapes, natural fibres, and prints inspired by French and Indian Mughal motifs. Designer Tory Read range gives a nod to the playful, and the romance of travel, and is created to embrace and enhance the everyday. We can’t wait to introduce this beautiful collection to you.

Growing Creations By Rushi

Did you put your plants out to soak up the beautiful rain over the last few days?! If you love indoor plants that are easy to care for, and that will bring your indoor spaces to life, then you will love the Kokedamas that Growing Creations By Rushi creates. Maker Rushi can chat all things plants with you at the upcoming market- and if you wanted to learn more about how to have successful creative greenery in your life, Rushi also runs great workshops.

Urban Hum

We all need to be supporting local Australian producers after the bushfires this summer. We love the amazing local honey and beeswax products that local beekeeper Kelly of Urban Hum brings to the The Olive Tree Market every month.
