Discover exciting new creatives joining us for the first time, alongside Olive Tree favourites returning to our creative community. We all love comfort food in Winter, so why not head down to Civic Park on Saturday for delicious winter themed brunch, you can picnic on our blankets and we provide the live music all day long!
We have food for all dietary requirements and tastes. Including morish Middle Eastern from Zaytoona, the most amazing bagels by Brooklyn Boy Bagels, Taiwanese street food from Bao Brothers, vegan treats from The Clean Kitchen, amazing cookies from newcomers Baked Goods, chai from Urban Hum, coffee from Sprocket Roasters, healthy smoothies from The Smoothie Co and Super Food Revolution and kombucha by The Mighty Kombucha. Don’t forget to sample the most amazing gin from The Farmers Wife Distillery and take a bottle home for weekend celebrations with friends.

Henry and Tunks
If you missed Henry and Tunks at our last market- we certainly did- talented ceramicist Lyndel Henry will be returning to the to our creative community this Saturday. Think divine planters, vessels and bud vases, in the most gorgeous glazes, and with the smoothest finishes we have felt! Take home unique, one of a kind ceramics, for your home- or as a special gift.
Alana Douvros- Contemporary Jewellery
Meet jeweller Alana Douvros. Originally from the US, Alana now lives in Australia where she hand crafts her stunning wearable art. Each piece is made from beautiful materials, including 14k rolled gold, solid sterling silver, and 100% natural gemstones. Every gemstones Alana uses is natural, which means they have never been heat treated or dyed. Discover jewellery like these Gelidonya earrings, which are made with raw chrome diopside, at the upcoming Olive Tree Market and welcome the artist to Newcastle.
Belinda Doyle Art- Resin Art
It’s hard to know whether the serving boards Belinda Doyle creates should be used as practical home wares or if they should be mini artworks for the wall! The good thing is you get to decide when you take one of these beautiful pieces home for yourself. We are a little in love with the tones in this talented creatives artworks. Discover Belinda’s beautiful work, which also includes photography featuring the gorgeous South Coast and wearable inked scarves, at Saturday’s The Olive Tree Market.
Elation- Surf and Swimwear
If you are an ocean lover, and thinking ahead to summer swims, then we are really excited to introduce you to locally designed surf & swim wear Elation created by Newcastle local Kellie Mitchell. Growing up at the beach Kellie says she found her home in the sea, and that the ocean has provided her with a great sense of happiness and love. Elation started with the environment as the inspiration, and giving back to Mother Earth, as the main priority. Providing quality swimwear was the second inspiration. The aim was to found Elation using sustainable and ethical practices. Elations‘ garments are made from eco fabric blends, containing regenerated nylon, made from rescued ghost fish nets and industrial waste, which are reborn into swimwear that provides comfort, compression and flexibility, and help create a solution for our future oceans. Did we mention they also look amazing!

Its always fantastic to see the outcomes of Newcastle’s creative community collaborating. Dough My Dear- for the little ones.
Who remembers the delicious smell, and taste, of play dough!? Luisa Lipari started Dough My Dear as a craft activity with her eldest daughter. This shared play time activity evolved into a luxurious range of play dough for kids, mum and dads. Dough My Dear Play Dough’s range is ever growing, and ever changing, to meet the creative needs of the littlest customers. Its a great learning tool that can help develop all of your senses- If you’re brave enough to eat some! While it’s not meant to be consumed, if you can’t resist and have a little nibble- that’s okay because It’s made of edible ingredients!! Creator Luisa has also developed ergonomic rolling pins for little hands, and vegan leather aprons and mess mats, so the kids can have messy creative play in any space.
Big Eco Bites
Here’s some inspiration for taking your lunch to school and work! 15 year old Emma of Power Through Plants created this delicious school lunch, in Olive Tree stallholder Seonaidh Murphy of Big Bite Eco’s cool lunch boxes. It’s inspiring to see so many young people being environmentally conscious in their daily lives. What’s your school lunch favourite? The Clean Kitchen
The growth of creators of vegan based healthy treats in Newcastle is on the rise! Olive Tree has catered for the vegan community for many years, with many vegan based stalls. If you are a fan of delicious raw treats then make sure you don’t miss The Clean Kitchen next week at the Olive Tree Market. Slices included Salted Caramel Slice, Lemon and Ginger Slice, Nut and Seed Slice and Tiramisu. After trying a collection of The Clean Kitchen’s goodies we can tell you they are all delicious!
